Подразделение в составе Министерства внутренних дел [ Department of the Interior, U.S.], возглавляется комиссаром [Commissioner]. Создано в 1935 для оказания экономической помощи индейцам путем расширения рынка сбыта произведений их искусства и ремесел. Согласно закону об индейских искусствах и ремеслах 1990 [Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990] торговлей такими товарами могут заниматься только члены признанных федеральными властями племен. Ныне годовой объем продаж товаров в этом сегменте колеблется от 50 до 100 млн. долларов. В ведении управления также находятся несколько этнографических музеев, в том числе Музей индейцев равнин [ Museum of the Plains Indian], Музей индейцев южных равнин [ Southern Plains Indian Museum]English-Russian dictionary of regional studies > Indian Arts and Crafts Board
